Fair use disputed for Image:Gita Swarasisya Buwana.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gita Swarasisya Buwana.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:54, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Salvation_Army.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Salvation_Army.svg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 14:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Please note my comments on the above page- a reply ASAP would be great, as the image is just sitting around in CAT:CSD at the moment. J Milburn (talk) 17:19, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Ok, that's great- best of luck! We'll need him to explicitly say 'it's released into PD/under GFDL' or whatever- remember that 'Wikipedia may use it' is not acceptable. After you have the permission, it may be best to forward the email to the appropriate OTRS address so that the evidence can be easily accessed. J Milburn (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Quentin Bryce image

Hi there,

You mentioned here that you had emailed the GG webmaster to see if you could get a free photo of Quentin Bryce; did you ever hear back? The dispute on whether or not to use the blurry image has flared up again, and a better quality image appearing would be good circuit breaker for that. Lankiveil (speak to me) 08:23, 4 October 2008 (UTC).

Just saw your message on Lankveil's talk page; if they do reply, please make sure they use something similar to the templates at WP:Requesting copyright permission, otherwise the image won't be truly free. Giggy (talk) 07:36, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Great, please let me know how you get along =). Lankiveil (speak to me) 10:59, 5 October 2008 (UTC).

MSedit

Why did you remove my picture from MS-DOS editor? And you described it as pointless and pretty? It is not pointless. It is simply just another picture. Please refrain from doing this. The image was not pointless. You will need to get to the link yourself. --Marshall T. Williams (talk) 01:52, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

VDPAU

You added the merge proposal to VDPAU (related to PureVideo). Since this is ambiguous, I'd like to note that only the table (and the information related to it) should be merged into PureVideo, the rest is an independent article about a programming interface. Wrong decision

Hi. You accepted this edit which is a BLP violation and wrong decision. You have to check the history page, Google the name, etc before accepting an edit. Please read carefully the guideline before reviewing other page and use this for testing review tool.Farhikht (talk) 11:35, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

What was wrong with that edit? The article you linked wasn't even a biography of a living person. — Jeremy 13:19, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
The IP put the name of a hoax which was linked to this article. Check this.Farhikht (talk) 13:39, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
I must say, I still don't get what went on. Not denying the possibility of me making a mistake, but just still don't get it. — Jeremy 23:22, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

The Wollongong Conservatorium of Music AfD

Hi JV,
I want to keep the article. I'm guessing you also want to keep the article. Yet we have both maintained strict neutrality. I think mutual congratulations on our neutrality are in order here... except that may compromise our neutrality :-)

Heh. Your suspicions are not far off, my (local?) friend. :-) — Jeremy 12:00, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
If "an unspecified location somewhere on the eastern coast of Australia" counts as "local", that is.--Shirt58 (talk) 12:23, 1 October 2010 (UTC) ps: if you ever want to ask music-related questions, Professor Kohl is the go-to man.

Edit summaries

Just a friendly heads up. Just because you thought the image was not great is no reason to leave an edit summary like this [1]. Perhaps not superbly cropped, but it was the current version at the time not showing "purchased" music.--Theda 01:06, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Comparison of VoIP software, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page TLS (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
